PLC and HMI panels
PLC and HMI control panels
PLC and HMI panels for machines and processes, designed to your requirement or built to your drawings. Programmable systems are loaded, programmed and checked against their I/O in our shop before they ship.
Platforms
Our engineering team programs ABB AC500 PLCs, Danfoss, WEG and Beijer controls, and Siemens PLCs and HMIs. If your specification names another platform, tell us: customer specifications can be met with other brands.
For process plants, our engineering team is an ABB Freelance DCS integrator, and Freelance control panels are built in this shop. Controls engineering and programming → ABB Freelance DCS integration →
What goes into the panels
- PLCs and I/O, in the panel or on remote I/O, documented with I/O lists and terminal-block maps.
- Operator interfaces: touch-screen HMIs, loaded with the application before they ship.
- Networking: industrial Ethernet switches, cellular routers and fieldbus gateways where the system calls for them.
- Safety: safety controllers and safety relays, including ones the customer supplies.
Remote SCADA and RTU panels
For sites that report to a central system, we build remote SCADA and RTU panels and plant monitoring systems. Outdoor cabinets can be built in stainless steel or fiberglass to suit the climate where they are deployed. Outdoor network cabinets for a utility communications program →
From the shop
- A UL 508A control box for a robotic work cell, built around the customer's safety controller and PLCs and inspected by UL in our shop.
- A test-cell line-up for a factory drive test floor, with a central PLC and touch-screen station on remote I/O, programmed and commissioned on site.
- Freelance DCS control panels for a high-power test facility, on grossengineering.com.
Tested before it ships, started up on site
Factory acceptance testing to a customer's procedure is available. When the job calls for it, the same engineers who built and programmed the system do start-up and commissioning on site. Our engineering team also handles PLC and SCADA replacements and machine-tool control retrofits. Start-up and field service →
Programmable panels go through the same UL 508A program as every other panel the shop builds, with their short-circuit current rating determined and marked. SCCR, explained →
What to send for a quote
The I/O count or list, the PLC and HMI platform you want or must match, any networks the panel joins, the supply voltage, the enclosure rating and where it will live, and the quantity and date. What to send for a panel quote →
